SEAWARD PROPERTIES SUPPORTS THE MOTOR NEURONE

Chichester-based housebuilder, Seaward Properties, has demonstrated its support of charities by sponsoring a horse race at nearby Fontwell Park in aid of the Motor Neurone Disease Association.

Barry Sampson, Chairman of Seaward Properties, feels his company’s sponsorship of the race is particularly appropriate as he has personal experience of the devastation this disease can cause:

"I have had three good friends afflicted by this terrible disease" he explained. "Kirk Webster, a friend from Itchenor Sailing Club, to whom the race was dedicated bravely fought the disease for 5 years but sadly died in October, just days before the race took place. Another, the former captain of Chichester Rugby Club, died within a year of being diagnosed".

The Seaward Kirk Webster Inspiration Handicap Steeple Chase was held on 3rd November at Fontell Park, Fontwell, near Arundel, which is within a few miles of Chichester with all proceeds going towards the Motor Neurone Disease Association. In excess of £60,000 has been raised so far.

“We are delighted to be supporting the Motor Neurone Disease Association,” concluded Barry Sampson. “We can only hope that a cure is found and progress is made towards finding the cause as soon as possible.”
