23/08/18A fresh start in a newly built home
David and Rosemary Allan had lived in Twickenham in south-west London, for 45 years and had brought up their family there, when they decided to choose a fresh start in a newly built home by the coast.
“We had intended to move to Sussex years ago,” says Rosemary. “My family has had a holiday bungalow in Bracklesham Bay since 1924 which my grandfather built, then our eldest son moved with his family to Rowlands Castle, so we know the area, we liked it and we wanted to be by the sea.”
David and Rosemary had been searching for a property in the area when they spotted the first homes being built at Priors Orchard, the outstanding new scheme from Seaward Properties in Southbourne.
“I had heard of Seaward Properties but when we saw the show house and specification, we were so impressed by all the little touches. We like the sheer quality of the solid wood doors, the architraving and all the Neff appliances in the kitchen. The care and attention shows they’ve thought about the details and followed them through.”
The couple chose one of the first properties to be ready at Priors Orchard, a three bedroom home with a separate living room and a spacious, open plan kitchen/dining room which leads out onto the patio and the garden.
“We’re on such a good bus route which will come in handy as we get older as it can take us to Portsmouth, Chichester or Brighton and the station is a 10 minute walk with trains up to London Victoria,” adds Rosemary. “The situation with the doctors, the farm shop and five minutes from Emsworth, Chichester and the coast as well as being a nice area, is just perfect for us.”
New owners at Priors Orchard are presented with a hamper packed with delicious local produce from the nearby Southbourne Farm Shop which has a great reputation for miles around.

Open hours are from Thursday to Monday, 10am to 5pm (closed Tuesday & Wednesday).
Rosemary said, “Wendy and Caroline in the sales office were so lovely and the aftercare here has been wonderful. The house has a real holiday feel, especially as the weather has been so nice, and already we really feel this is home.”
