Where Memories Matter is the theme behind everything that happens at Sage House, a centre in Tangmere near Chichester, set up to support and engage with people living with dementia by bringing local dementia services under one roof.

Sage House is now home to the Memory Assessment Service provided jointly by Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust and the Alzheimer’s Society.  The Wayfinding Service at the centre has been developed to support people throughout their dementia journey following diagnosis.

The other services on offer include :

  • Day care
  • Personal care and wellbeing with assisted bathing and hairdressing available
  • Social and wellbeing activities
  • Smart Zone showcasing dementia friendly equipment for the home
  • A community café which is open to the public

Sage House is entirely dependent on charitable donations and the Appreciation Zone revealed on 7 November showed just how many local individuals and businesses have supported this inspirational space.  Seaward is proud to be one of these supporters through the sponsorship of three apprentices working at the centre.  One is currently part of the day care team and working towards her NVQ Level 3, another is undertaking a Business Administration Apprenticeship and the third has commenced his Level 5 award in Health & Social Care.

On display were some incredible collages created from individual pieces of art work by the users of the service, including these poppies and an English Breakfast!

Sage House and Dementia Support is entirely reliant on charitable donations.  To find out more about this important and valuable service and how you can support the work at Sage House visit the website here.
